五)出门 E: In Public
一、衣冠不求华美,但须整洁。
Outfits need not be ostentatious but clean and tidy.
二、见长者,必趋致敬。见幼孩,必夸赞,见青少年,点头为礼。
A show of respect should be given when meeting adults. A praise should be given when meeting a child. Acknowledge the younger ones that you are acquainted with.
三、不高呼,不手指,不招呼。
In a high place, avoid yelling from a distance, pointing, or shouting greetings.
四、路上不嚼食物,不喝饮料,不游荡。
Avoid eating, drinking, and fool around in the streets.
五、让乘客下车后再上车,乘车见长者必让座,
Let the people get off first, then get on the bus. Offer your seat to the elderly while on bus.
六、夜必归家,因事不能归时,必先告家人。
You should come home when it is dark, but if that is not possible you should inform your family members.
七、车马繁杂区,仅招呼敬礼。
Avoid greeting or waving when crossing a busy intersection
八、不立在路上久谈。
Avoid engaging in long conversations on the streets.
九、不走马路中间,越路须先向左右看清,不可与汽车争路。
Avoid walking in the middle of the road. Look carefully both ways before crossing the street, and do not block the road for vehicles.
十、行走时,步履宜稳重,并宜张胸闭口,目向前视。
When walking, step steadily, keep a proper upright posture, close your mouth, and face forward.
十一、遇妇女老弱,尽先让路让座。
Give women, children, and the elderly the right way and priority in seating
十二、途中有人问路,须详为指示;问路于人,须随即称谢。
When others ask for direction, instruct them clearly; When you ask for directions, thank them afterwards.
十三、推购物车时,要注意行人,不要疾行,以防撞人。
Pay attention to the pedestrians when pushing shopping cart. It would be easy to hit people if you push the cart fast.
十四、垃圾要扔到指定地方。
Garbage should be thrown to the designated place.
十五、在舟车上或飞机上,不探首或伸手出窗,并不得随便涕痰。
When riding in a car, boat, or plane, do not stick your head out of the window for a better look, or place your hand outside the vehicle, or spit out the window
