（三）处世 C: Social conduct
一、不说人之短，不说己之长。
Avoid exposing other people’s weaknesses and boasting your own strengths.
二、家庭之事，不可向外人言。
Avoid telling other people about personal family matters.
三、口为祸福之门，话要经一番考虑再说。见失意人，不说得意语；见老年人，不说衰丧话。
Speech is the door to positive or negative consequences, so think before you speak. When you are with a discouraged person, avoid talking about your own successes. When you are with an elderly person, avoid talking about death or other related topics.
四、交浅不可言深，绝交不出恶声。与人讲诚信，助人为乐。
Avoid telling your secrets to acquaintances or speaking ill of those who are no longer your friends. Be honest, trusty and happy to help others.
五、不侮辱人，不捉弄人，不向人开玩笑。
Avoid insulting others or making jokes about them.
六、与残疾人会面，须格外恭敬。
Be respectful when you meet people with disabilities.
七、于饭店侍者，花匠等体力劳工莫刻薄傲慢。
Avoid taking advantage of those working in small businesses or that engage in manual labors. Do not treat them meanly and look down upon them.
八、施恩求忘，受恩必报；开罪于人须求解，开罪于我应宽恕。
Do not expect rewards for doing good deeds and strive to repay the kindness shown to you. Beg for forgiveness when you offend others and sincerely forgive those who offended you.

九、善人自当亲近，须要久敬；恶人自当远之。
Keep company with good people and always show them respect. Treat immoral people with politeness while keeping a distance from them.
十、遇事要镇静，做不到的事，莫妄逞能。
Remain calm in any situation and avoid committing to do things you are incapable of doing.
十一、凡事要合理智，不可偏重感情。
Be just and fair in all situations, not letting your emotions to cloud your judgement.
十二、己所不欲，勿施于人。己所欲，勿强人接受。
Do not give to others something simply because you do not want it yourself. Do not force the others to take something simply because you like it.
